Fundraising event with Graham Gooch former English first-class cricketer
Representatives from Tamdown, recently attended an evening event sponsored by us raising money for charity with English first-class cricketer Graham Gooch.
Held at Le Talbooth in Dedham near Colchester, this local event has long been associated with Tamdown and we were pleased to sponsor again this year and attend the enjoyable evening along with some of our customers.
Our staff attend course to train in Mental Health First Aid
Staff from Tamdown recently attended a ‘Mental Health First Aid’ course supported by Mates in Mind and our group charity Nexus Community Trust.
This is the second group of our people who have undertaken this training and all our employees will be invited to mental health awareness training over the next eighteen months, and all line managers, site supervisors and engineers will be trained in managing conversations around wellbeing.
At least one person takes their own life every day in the construction industry, and our partnership with Mates in Mind is to encourage our people take the time to have a conversation with colleagues and other work mates on site and off about their wellbeing.
Tamdown gets new Construction Director – Mark Wadsworth

Tamdown is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Wadsworth as Construction Director, who joined the business on the 18th of June.
With a career spanning more than 30yrs – predominantly with Laing O’Rourke / Expanded Group and more recently Carey Group, where he has gained vast experience in all aspects of Civil Engineering across the majority of Infrastructure and Construction sectors.
In addition, he brings extensive experience in Health and Safety, having led this vital function at Laing O’Rourke for over two years. Mark remains a Director of Construct – Concrete Structures Association , following his role as Chairman for four years and will represent Tamdown on the Council and its contribution to Build Uk going forward.
Roadshow to support our site based leaders

Over the past few weeks our dedicated HR team have been visiting all our sites, over 50 right now, to discuss various important topics and offer support to our site leaders.
Subjects covered included recent business improvements to help our site teams, HR support, our group purpose and values plus gathering some bright ideas from our site teams to make things easier and better – both for our people and our customers.

We are pleased to announce today, that Nexus Infrastructure, the parent company of Tamdown and its sister company TriConnex, is listing on the London Stock Exchange.
Tamdown will continue to work in partnership directly with all our clients, while also being able to grow our business and service offering within the strong UK Housing market.
