Tamdown have been working with Vistry Kent across this multiphase development of over 700 units, we are currently working on the essential infrastructure and roads as well as the groundworks for the 290 units.
Challenge
- Speed of build has been critical to most recent phase – with the need for access to the plots as soon as possible.
- Detailed cut and fill strategy was required in order to optimise the re-use of subsoil and topsoil across the site
- Quality has been a key focus, striving for Pride in the job awards across all phases of the development alongside our customer.
- Multi-phase nature of the site requires a co-ordinated approach to the planning of plant and pedestrians and the various activities that will be taking place across the site.
Solution
- We installed the vital roads and infrastructure to enable access to the properties as required by our customers programme of works.
- Provided upfront guidance on the optimal cut and fill strategy and how to maximise re-use across the parcel, mitigating the need for disposal of subsoils from site and double handling.
- Working collaboratively with our customers site teams to understand what they were looking to achieve and our collective site teams driving this despite demanding programme requirements.
- Resourcing the site with correct labour and plant to ensure that key dates and milestones could be achieved.
Outcome
- Tamdown provided regular programme updates to outline progress against key objectives and worked closely with Vistry on the build sequence.
- Essential infrastructure and delivery of the foundations and oversites of the 290 units across the phase.
- Working together with our customers site teams, we have been able to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of the project.
