Enabling the initial build zones and infrastructure as well as commencing plot works on this new development.

Challenge

  • 139 unit housing site constructed over a 138-week period.
  • 600m of infrastructure spine road
  • Sewers connecting on-site for the surface water via an attenuation basin and the foul water off-site through an existing road onto an existing manhole.
  • The site needed an intricate cut-and-fill strategy. The first activity involved excavation of the attenuation pond to generate the first build zone and allow commencement of the plot works. This has been followed by a carefully staged operation to mitigate any future disposal from site.

Solution

  • Using our extensive experience of large-scale infrastructure and residential groundworks, to ensure a high-quality standard and in an efficient timescale.
  • With our excellent working relationship developed with Persimmon at previous sites, we engaged early with them on the scheme, alongside their planning journey.

Outcome

  • Commenced earthworks in January, with more works to follow
  • Persimmon is targeting 30 completions by December 2024
