A fabulous MacMillan Coffee Morning

We had a fantastic morning at Nexus Park on Monday raising funds for our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.

We had an incredible turnout of delicious bakes and together we raised over £700 to help Macmillan Cancer Support continue their incredible work supporting people living with cancer.

It’s amazing what a cup of coffee and a slice of cake can do.

HouseBuilder Challenge success

This time last week some of our team had just completed the HouseBuilder Challenge 2025 in aid of the Youth Adventure Trust.

20 miles, 2 peaks, torrential rain and still completed in just over 9 hours!

Great effort by the team and all for a fantastic cause; we managed to raise £4k.

Thank you to everyone that supported us along the way.

Suicide Prevention Campaign

In construction, mental health challenges are real – and often hidden. Rather than limiting our efforts to World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, we’ve committed to a month-long campaign to raise awareness, break the stigma, and make sure every worker knows: you’re not alone, and support is always available.

From Toolbox Talks and Manager Toolkits to Wellbeing Webinars and “Tea & Talk” sessions, we’re creating space for real conversations and connection across our offices and sites.

Highlights include:

• The relaunch of our Wellbeing Champions network
• EAP visibility checks across site offices
• Toolbox Talks and manager-led conversations
• Webinar on resilience – “The Power of Never Giving Up”
• Informal wellbeing sessions to check in and support each other.

We work hard to keep our people physically safe, and through this campaign, we are striving to make sure our people are supported with their mental wellbeing too.

Bloor Homes - Bentley Gardens in Basildon

It has been a pleasure to witness and be part of the successful sales launch at the Bloor Homes Bentley Gardens development in Basildon.

Tamdown are proud to be responsible for delivering the infrastructure and groundworks for the development of 269 new homes.

Congratulations to Bloor Homes on their sales launch, and we would like to thank our teams for their dedication and continued efforts in the delivery of this project.

Ongoing sponsors of Braintree Football Club

We are delighted to be partnering with Braintree Town Football Club again this season.

After a successful return to the national league last season we are excited to see how well they do this season.

Our MD, Rob Kendal, recently went down to pre-season training to see the first team squad in preparation and chat to the management team.

We are proud to be supporting one of our local teams for the season ahead and look forward to cheering them on.

Good luck the iron!

Apprentice In-Touch Day - a warm welcome to our new starters

We were delighted to host our Apprentice In-Touch Day- a fantastic opportunity for our new apprentices to meet each other ahead of their official start, ease any first-day nerves, and get a real feel for life at Tamdown.

The day kicked off with a fun icebreaker quiz to get everyone talking and laughing – the winner took home a £50 Amazon voucher!

Following the quiz, our apprentices heard from several Tamdown directors, who gave an engaging overview of the company, our values, and what they can expect from their future with us. A standout moment was Rob Kendal’s inspiring story of his own career journey through Tamdown, complete with a brave reveal of his first CSCS card photo! It was a great way to help our apprentices feel welcomed, inspired and part of the team from the very beginning.

Our existing apprentices joined them for a relaxed buffet lunch which gave everyone the chance to chat informally and share their experiences with tips on balancing work and college life, preparing for exams and assessments, and making the most of their apprenticeship.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with all the apprentices saying they now feel more confident and excited about starting their journey with us.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and to our current apprentices for being such brilliant ambassadors.

We’re excited to support and encourage our new apprentices as they begin this exciting chapter!

Delighted to be shortlisted in this year's Essex Housing Awards!

A big thank you to all those that have played a part, and hopefully we can celebrate a win at the awards ceremony in October.
