Charity and Community
Supporting local and employee-nominated causes has always been a part of who we are at Tamdown.
Our people regularly highlight wanting to give back to the local community in our employee surveys and we work with a variety of organisations to do just that.
Supporting local
Our group charity the Nexus Community Trust exists to bring employees, clients and friends together in a unique way to make the world of difference to our chosen charities.
The charity is the focal point of fundraising activities carried out by our employees, friends and families and is fully supported by Tamdown as part of the Nexus Infrastructure Group.
Volunteers carry out fundraising activities on a regular basis and the business also makes direct donations.
Our support is varied and has included:
- Fundraising mountain hikes for the Youth Adventure Trust to support and empower young people to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future.
- Purchasing 12 electronic tablets to assist students with learning difficulties at Chelmer Valley High School.
- Donating an incubator to Broomfield Hospitals Neo-Natal Unit.
- Delivering aid to the Ukraine border as part of the Plant and Hire Aid alliance.
- Supporting families of children with Autism, Learning difficulties and Disabilities through the Spectrum charity.
- Supporting Elim Church, Braintree by donating hampers to feed the homeless and others struggling.
- Gift bags donated to care homes through United in Kind.
- Delivery of groundworks and paving for an area of Hatfield Peveral School.
