Rob is a forward thinking and proactive leader with experience gained since starting on site in 1999. He has developed a strong, motivated and committed team. He has extensive knowledge in building and construction techniques, commercial and operational delivery. Rob’s leads by example, is a qualified director and is passionate about delivering first class customer service.
Mark joined Tamdown in June 2018 with a career spanning more than 30yrs, he has vast experience in all aspects of Civil Engineering across the majority of Infrastructure and Construction sectors. In addition, he brings extensive experience in Health and Safety and remains a Director of Construct – Concrete Structures Association, following his role as Chairman for four years.
Sarah is a Chartered Certified Accountant, driven within both her own role and in helping others to be the best that they can be. Part of the Tamdown finance team since 2013, she has a deep understanding of all aspects within this function. She works to ensure that finance is integral to the rest of the business, providing advice, adding value and guidance in all financial touch points.
Gareth is a relationship driven, proactive Commercial Director with extensive knowledge and experience. He has worked on a number of high profile projects and for the majority of the top ten housebuilders. He has had experience in a variety of commercial roles within the industry and his role within Tamdown is to build upon our strong customer base, develop it further and strengthen the business’ relationships.
Pre-Construction and Planning Director
Jeremy is a highly focused Pre-Construction & Planning Director and has worked in the industry for 28 years. In that time, he has worked on over 110 complex Projects at a high level. He is used to delivering Projects on programme on very tight sites to a high standard maintaining a Customer focus, looking out for the Developer’s best interests and finding the right solutions.
Barry is a highly experienced and versatile Operations Director who has gained vast technical knowledge within the construction industry, specialising in civil engineering, earthworks, drainage, substructures, superstructure concrete, steel frames and design & build. He is pro-active, extremely resourceful and innovative with a flexible outlook. An effective leader who is organised and efficient with the ability to prioritise work loads.
Plant & Procurement Director
Mark joined Tamdown in 1993 and heads-up the Procurement and Plant teams. Mark has played a key part in the company for many years, he is highly motivated and passionate about achieving business goals and is focused on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Director of Estimating
Since joining Tamdown in 2013 Anthony has developed his and his teams industry and customer knowledge to ensure we find the best possible solutions for our clients when pricing a job.
His experience includes estimating and client consultation on an extensive range of projects across groundworks, infrastructure, civil engineering and reinforced concrete frame sites for residential, commercial and public sector developments.

Geoff French CBE
Geoff French CBE joined the Board as non-executive Chairman in January 2016. Geoff, who is a civil engineering graduate, began his career at Scott Wilson in 1968. He was Chairman from 2002 until 2010 during which time he oversaw the Group’s successful flotation on the London Stock Exchange and its sale to URS. Geoff has been Chairman of the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (‘LEP’) since it was established in 2011. He was formerly President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (2013 to 2014), President of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (2011 to 2013) and Chairman of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering in 2009.
Chief Executive Officer
Mike Morris has led the Group through a period of significant growth since the management buy-out in 1999 working closely with 3i Group plc. Mike is an entrepreneur, business leader and keen start-up investor with over 25 years’ experience within the civil engineering and infrastructure services industry. The catalyst and driving force behind the continued success of the business, Mike is passionate about continuous improvement at a business and personal level. He holds a BSc degree in Management.
Chief Financial Officer
Alan Martin was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Group in September 2015. Alan, a Chartered Accountant, was previously Chief Financial Officer of housebuilder and strategic land specialist MJ Gleeson plc from 2009 – 2015, having joined in 2006 as Group Financial Controller, during which time he played an important role in the repositioning and revitalisation of the Group. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Psion plc and PwC.
Independent Non-Executive Director
Richard is a chartered civil engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Educated in South Africa, he has a BSc degree in civil engineering. He has held a number of senior positions in construction and private equity and also has specific experience of property development, business process outsourcing and healthcare. He was a partner at 3i Group plc where he was involved in significant investments in Asia, the USA and Europe. Richard also serves as non-executive Chairman of private equity backed SHS Integrated Services Ltd and spent five years (including a year as acting Chairman) as a non- executive Director of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Independent Non-Executive Director
Alex Wiseman has significant experience within the utility sector, specialising in regulation and strategy. He is currently Non-Executive Director at the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation and has previously held directorships across both public and private sector organisations, including Open4Energy, Xoserve and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alex was previously Regulation Director at Northern Gas Networks and Head of Strategic Planning at United Utilities. Educated at Cambridge University, he holds an MA degree in Mathematics and an MBA, and is a qualified management accountant.
Independent Non-Executive Director
Ffion is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has over 25 years’ experience in senior roles across a range of sectors including professional services, technology and private equity. Ffion was Global Director of Human Resources at the law firm Olswang LLP from 2005 until 2015.
Prior to this she was Director of Human Resources at SJ Berwin LLP and has held senior roles at Vedaris, Pearson Professional and The Royal College of General Practitioners. Ffion was until recently a Non-Executive Director of Burnt Mill Academies Trust. She holds a BA in English Literature and a MA in Human Resource Management.
Dawn Hillman joined the Group in 1985 and has a unique and deep knowledge of the business. In addition to her duties as Company Secretary, she also serves as Internal Auditor and oversees Continuous Improvement. Dawn is a Trustee of the Nexus Community Trust our Group Charity .
